Oracle Establishes Record Number of Partners, Company Announces at OPN Kickoff

Oracle (News - Alert) just hosted its PartnerNetwork (OPN) Kickoff this year, an event that gathers partners from around the world to discuss new advancements in the company. This year, it has announced that it has seen a continuous record-breaking increase in the number of partners that have taken advantage of its OPN Enablement program, a program that provides resources to its partners and lets them use its certificates.

At this point, Oracle has more than four thousand "specialized" partners that represent over 18 thousand specializations. Compared to 2011, Oracle's partnerships have grown by 83 percent, making it a new record for the company, not to mention the 29 thousand new certification specialists it added in 2012 alone. This astounding number now puts Oracle under the spotlight, with 80 thousand certified specialists right now.

"Oracle is extremely focused on building the industry's most admired partner ecosystem - which today spans over 25 thousand partners," said Judson Althoff, SVP of Worldwide Alliances and Channels at Oracle. "We believe that with our expansive product portfolio and available enablement resources Oracle can provide more value to our partners than any other company in our industry today. We are leading our system integrators to establish innovative, repeatable, and strategic offerings around our technology, enabling our ISVs to enhance their architectures, and building up our product-focused VARs into cross-stack solution providers. Today's kickoff event is geared to help partners understand these opportunities so they can strategically leverage them throughout FY13."

Along with this exciting announcement, Oracle also announced a new relationship with TechData, a distributor of microcomputing hardware and software products for resellers. This relationship will entail a new extended reseller agreement that will allow TechData to distribute Oracle's hardware and software products. TechData will now become one of the world's biggest distributors of Oracle's products.
