Compuware Unveils SpeedoftheWeb, Boosts Service Delivery for Online Businesses

Compuware (News - Alert) Corporation, a technology performance specialist, has unveiled SpeedoftheWeb.org, a new free online cloud service that assists Web application and site owners in enhancing the speed of their most critical Web properties.

As more and more products and services are sold and bought on the internet, companies realize the need for speed. Often, the winner in the world of the Internet is the one who reaches the customer first.

This cloud service allows companies to compare the speed of their website's performance with major competitor sites. With categorized collections of 1,000 of the world's most trafficked websites, as ranked by Alexa and Compuware Gomez benchmarks, SpeedoftheWeb provides a series of industry-relevant indexes.

“With end-user expectations higher than ever, the cost of poor website performance is huge, both in terms of lost revenues and brand loyalty,” said Alois Reitbauer, Compuware APM's (News - Alert) Web 2.0, mobile performance expert and author of Java Enterprise Performance. “End-users are showing less patience for slow-performing websites and expect their applications to perform at lightning speed. Even a slight reduction in application performance can determine if a customer will return to a website to do business again."

Recently, TMC’s (News - Alert) Trupti Kamath reported that the company started numerous upgrades to its products that will assist its users in tackling the business problems of the "New Normal of Mainframe" by promoting developer productivity and enhancing application performance management. Mainframe applications are getting more customer-facing, complex and thus difficult to maintain. This puts companies at risk as they may have to face a skill scarcity for maintaining expensive and crucial applications.
