Paydiant Cloud Mobile Wallet Receives appSecure Certification

viaForensics provides  a public certification to applications catering to the high security standards tested in the company’s appSecure mobile app security audit. The certification assures users that their application properly implements security measures and the handling of sensitive data. An application must be tested on a specific platform and version for certification, for example iPhone/iOS4, Android (News - Alert) 2.2, etc, to receive the certification.

Paydiant, a provider of cloud-based mobile wallet and mobile payment solutions for retailers, banks and processors, recently stated that its mobile payments platform has been given the highly-regarded appSecure certification from viaForensics.

The certification was issued after a stringent evaluation of the procedures utilized in Paydiant's mobile wallet software to stop the exposure of sensitive or private transaction data used in processing mobile payments. Without new intermediaries, Paydiant's cloud-based, mobile wallet and payment solution allows retailers, banks and processors to install a branded contactless mobile wallet, mobile payment and cash access platform, the company stated in a press release.

“It no longer makes sense for consumers to share their credit card numbers with hundreds of retailers a year," said Chris Gardner, co-founder of Paydiant. "Cloud-based wallets are absolutely the future and Paydiant's mobile wallet and mobile payments platform represents a fundamentally different and better approach. Payment card and authentication credentials are never stored on the phone and never sent to the point-of-sale terminal.”

Recently, TMC (News - Alert) reported that pcAmerica successfully installed the Paydiant mobile payments software into pcAmerica Cash Register Express and Restaurant Pro Express point-of-sale (POS) solutions. Now, by making use of this new combined solution, all of pcAmerica's 50,000 retail and restaurant POS software users can accept Paydiant-powered mobile payments and promotions. Customers of pcAmerica will be able to support a variety of advanced mobile wallet capabilities by upgrading to the latest version of the pcAmerica software.
