Andorra Telecom Picks Aurora Networks' Trident7 PON Solution

Communications service provider Andorra Telecom has said that it’s leveraging Aurora Networks’ Trident7 PON solution to provide its subscribers with fast upload and download speeds.

Aurora Networks’ Trident7 PON solution enhances the capability to deliver the right technology for emerging services such as IP video, over-the-top (OTT) video, and commercial services.

“Andorra Telecom’s selection of the Trident7 platform was the perfect solution to meet the requirements needed to accommodate both the projected growth of IP-based services, and the increasingly available high definition content,” said John Dahlquist, vice president for marketing at Aurora Networks.

The solution enables Andorra Telecom’s network to meet current market needs and service requirements. In addition, it believes that by leveraging this solution, it will be ready for the service demands required in 7-10 years.

Andorra Telecom has invested in a FTTH access network as it sees true broadband as one of the pillars needed to become an excellent broadband communications operator, according to company officials.

“Providing our customers with access to high value services is our priority. Being top of this list just reinforces that we are going in the right direction,” said Jaume Salvat, director general at Andorra Telecom.

Salvat said that with its flexibility and scalability, Aurora Networks’ Trident7 platform has provided the company’s with the opportunity to deliver today’s advanced services with the quality of service and experience the subscribers have come to demand.

“By deploying fiber-to-the-home, Andorra not only found ways to give subscribers what they want, they also found ways to reduce their capital and operational expenditures,” added Dahlquist.

Aurora Networks is a transport solutions provider for cable operators. The company is evolving cable by focusing on innovative solutions that build future-proof networks to accommodate the cable subscriber services of today and tomorrow. The company has strengthened its end-to-end PON solutions to help operators cost-effectively deliver all optical IP Ethernet-based services to both residential and commercial customers.
