By Sujata GarudDealing with big data is becoming a concern for companies across all industries. Machine- and user-generated data is growing quickly and expected to grow at a rate of 40 percent year over year. To help its customers across industries, ScaleXtreme has announced it is planning to offer "big data" systems management functionality as part of its next-generation systems management products.
ScaleXtreme has plans to integrate “big data" analytics and insights into the monitoring and management of systems. The company is working on including comparative performance benchmarks, industry-wide best practices, peer-based vulnerability analysis, shared security threat alerts and service provider meta-analysis.
The next-gen systems management will also support shared data to deliver actionable IT operations insights.
Using this solution, customers can spot emerging trends. Customers will be in a better state to respond to instantaneous and upcoming issues with their infrastructure as they will be better informed of the actions they should take.
ScaleXtreme has plans to make these big data-enabled features for testing later this year. Customers will be able to opt-in to the ScaleXtreme Intelligence Network and immediately start receiving precious opinions from others in the network.
Patch management is among the most outstanding advanced use cases of the ScaleXtreme Intelligence Network. The ScaleXtreme product has an ability to recognize which cloud and on-premise servers require patching and accordingly help automate remediation. By using ScaleXtreme’s updated systems management solution, IT admins will get visibility into which patches their peers have deployed.
“Only a cloud-based tool can aggregate, anonymize and analyze IT operations data at scale, from a large base of users to deliver actionable intelligence to customers,” said Nand Mulchandani (News - Alert), CEO for ScaleXtreme. “The advancement of data analysis technologies has enabled us to begin work on an ambitious overhaul of the systems management products that IT operators are familiar with.”
ScaleXtreme was recently in the news for announcing it full support for Windows Azure Virtual Machines to launch, monitor, manage and patch Windows Server and Linux machines in Windows Azure. ScaleXtreme provides a single view, unifying the management of an organisation's server environment.
