PerspecSys Becomes a Corporate Member of the Cloud Security Alliance

Toronto- based PerspecSys Inc. is a provider of cloud data protection solutions that enable mission-critical cloud applications to be adopted throughout the enterprise. With an aim to help address the challenges faced by cloud security industry through collaboration, the company has joined Cloud Security Alliance, a not-for-profit organization with a mission to promote the use of best practices for providing security assurance within cloud computing and to provide education on the uses of cloud computing to help secure all other forms of computing.

As a corporate member of the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), PerspecSys will be part of CSA working groups. As a member of the Solution Provider Advisory Council, the company will share its deep technical knowledge and subject matter expertise with other members. The company will also help support CSA’s research initiatives.

“Two of the biggest challenges we face in the cloud security industry are increasing education and awareness. And as a new member of the CSA, we look forward to working with everyone in the organization to address both. We know there is a lot of confusion about the best ways to protect corporate data while leveraging cloud benefits and keeping pace with regulatory, privacy and data residency issues, and we are excited to contribute to the CSA's mission of promoting best practices for securing cloud environments,” president and CEO of PerspecSys, David Canellos explained in a statement.

PerspecSys has acquired deep cloud security expertise through the development and numerous deployments of its innovative PerspecSys Cloud Data Protection Gateway (News - Alert). PerspecSys' Gateway lets government agencies, public sector organizations and enterprises take full advantage of cloud SaaS applications such as Oracle CRM On Demand.

PerspecSys' solution has been designed to protect critical information through the use of tokenization or strong encryption (such as NIST listed FIPS 140-2 encryption modules).  The solution, according to the company’s website, delivers the strongest levels of data protection without impacting an end-user's ability to perform functions such as searching and sorting within their SaaS (News - Alert) applications.

“We welcome PerspecSys to the CSA and look forward to collaborating with them on reaching the organization's goal of fundamentally improving cloud computing security growth and success of our industry hinges on the leadership of companies like PerspecSys and we're excited to have them join us and contribute their wealth of knowledge and technology expertise to our organization,” a founding member of the Cloud Security Alliance and the chief information security officer at Inkiru, Inc., Liam Lynch noted in a statement.
