Actuate Partners with Pervasive Software

Companies are storing more data than ever, but most don’t know how to derive business benefits from them.  Big data mining and analytics allow these companies to use all their data to model trends and discover hidden intelligence that can impact future strategy, operational efficiency and cost containment. Data scientists and business analysts need to process hundreds of gigabytes to terabytes of data.

To explore the opportunities in this domain, Actuate Corporation has partnered with Pervasive Software (News - Alert) to quickly review, prepare and analyze big data, and display intuitive data visualizations. According to the company, this new partnership will allow users to make efficient business decisions.

“Big Data analytics has been traditionally been the realm of data scientists," said Nobby Akiha, senior vice president of marketing for Actuate (News - Alert), in a company press release. "By teaming with Pervasive, we are changing the game to ensure business users are in the driver's seat to analyze Big Data sources so that they can operationalize and deliver insights to everyday users.”

ActuateOne and Pervasive RushAnalyzer are looking to make Big Data analytics and powerful visualizations available to business users in any industry and to the BIRT developer community by speeding Big Data-based decision making, powering predictive analytics and reducing capital and operating expenses. Pervasive RushAnalyzer provides on the promise of no compromise, with a single platform for end to end data access, transformation, analysis, visualization and delivery.

Recently, TMC (News - Alert) reported that the company entered into a collaborative initiative with Hortonworks to facilitate Big Data visualization. The company is an open source Business Intelligence (BI) vendors and also the developer of Eclipse BIRT open source project. Hortonworks is a commercial vendor of Apache Hadoop. To provide an open and reliable foundation for enterprises and to support the development and deployment of big data solutions the company has created the Hortonworks Data Platform.
