Myricom Brings High Performance to Interop 2012

Extreme performance is generally something we associate with sports and risk-designed events, but Myricom (News - Alert) is taking a different approach. The company is building a strong reputation in delivering 10-Gigabit Ethernet solutions designed to meet the high capacity – and extreme performance – needs of today’s enterprise.

To find out what the company has been up to and its latest innovations in this space, TMC caught up with Myricom at Interop 2012. Rich Tehrani (News - Alert) invited Myricom’s Nan Boden Ph.D., chief executive officer, into the TMC newsroom. Their conversation was captured in this TMC video.

Myricom is catching attention for its partnership with Emulex (News - Alert), a competitor in the converged networking solutions space. Myricom will benefit from Emulex’s global channels and its strong OEM relationships. The company’s OneConnect Network Xceleration family of products will welcome the new High Performance Networking solutions.

Vertical industries including IPTV (News - Alert) and video streaming, cyber security and financial trading benefit from Myricom’s FastStack application-acceleration software. In this partnership, both Myricom and Emulex will focus on the development and market efforts for additional FastStack application acceleration software solutions for applications and markets where high performance networking provides a company with a strong competitive advantage.

"Emulex's strong Ethernet market share and aggressive roadmap combined with Myricom's FastStack low-latency, high-bandwidth, low CPU-overhead solutions will deliver the networking performance required by enterprise applications. According to Jeff Benck, Emulex president and chief operating officer, the two companies will provide a broad and comprehensive suite of high performance networking solutions, extending their reach in the Ethernet market and meeting the needs highlighted in the aforementioned vertical segments.
