NCP Engineering Sees Growth in Channels as Enterprises Want Remote Access VPN Software Solutions

NCP engineering – with its expertise in remote access – is expanding with enterprises wanting more VPN software solutions.

Currently, NCP is seeing growth in its North American channels because of increased demand from enterprises for remote access Virtual Private Network (VPN) software solutions. Nancy Lam-Calderon, director of channel sales, for the Americas, said the company is seeing “continued channel momentum” and the number of resellers are expanding quickly.

NCP has over 250 resellers, and just added CCT Technologies, Nexus and Computer 1 Products, according to a report from TechZone 360.

Related news reports IT administrators and employee end-users at enterprises say that fast connection setup (98 percent) and ease of use and intuitive handling (93 percent) are key requirements for remote access solutions, according to a survey conducted by NCP. Taking part in the survey were 490 users of the company’s VPN software solutions.

In addition, four out of five IT administrators ranked tops the VPN functionality which lessens burden on a helpdesk.

“The promise of remote access has long been to relieve – both enterprise IT administrators and end-users – from the headaches caused by slow connections and complicated technology,” said Patrick Oliver Graf, general manager, NCP engineering. “Our survey findings confirm that customer demand not only continues to largely be driven by these factors, but that their needs are even more complex with the emergence of new mobile devices and operating systems and the desire to use them securely and efficiently.”

NCP offers customers secure network access and software for remote user access. Among NCP’s products are IPsec/SSL VPNs; endpoint firewalls; and network access control functions. End-devices – with the company’s products – improve employee productivity, lower network administration and adapt changes of policy, according to a NCP statement carried by TMCnet.

Its solutions also work with third-party software and hardware.

In a recent interview at Interop 2012, Rainer Enders, CTO at NCP engineering, told TMC’s (News - Alert) CEO Rich Tehrani, “our solution is very high scale and very manageable.”

He added that there are some flaws in SSL VPNs. The OpenSSL Toolkit, for instance, was hacked 44 times over eight years. This means there is no single best approach to VPN use.

NCP has over 35,000 customers. It targets the education, financial, government and healthcare sectors. Many of its customers are on the Fortune 500 list.

NCP has its headquarters in Nuremberg, Germany, with an office for North America in the San Francisco Bay region. Its channel partners offer the NCP Secure Enterprise Management System, NCP Secure Enterprise VPN Server, NCP Secure Enterprise Client and NCP Secure Entry Client. NCP technology supports Windows 7/Vista/XP, Windows Mobile/Phone, Android, Mac OS X/iOS, BlackBerry (News - Alert), Symbian and Linux.
