Ingram Micro, Silver Peak Team Up to Bring WAN Optimization to Asia Pacific

Silver Peak (News - Alert) Systems, a designer and manufacturer of WAN optimization products, and wholesale provider of technology products and supply chain services, Ingram Micro (News - Alert) announced Wednesday that they have signed distribution agreements across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. The agreements include offering Silver Peak's WAN optimization products to resellers and customers in Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Silver Peak's virtual and physical products offer some of the most comprehensive options for deploying WAN optimization in any location, including data centers, branch offices and the cloud. Furthermore, Silver Peak's Virtual Acceleration Open Architecture (VXOA) complements Ingram Micro's virtual infrastructure offerings from companies like VMware, Citrix and Microsoft (News - Alert). This has the added bonus of providing enterprises throughout Asia Pacific with reduced WAN infrastructure costs.

We are hopeful that this alignment will bring value to our customers throughout the region."

The two companies will be co-investing in dedicated technical support staff, market development and cross-trained sales engineers.

In related news, Silver Peak recently announced the release of version 5.2 of its Virtual Acceleration Open Architecture (VXOA), which enables enterprises to overcome WAN bandwidth, quality and distance barriers to public cloud deployments.
