Edgeware Integrates with SeaChange to Provide Complete Multiscreen Solution

Edgeware’s Orbit 3020 video server provides advanced features for both retail and wholesale video and TV services in an operator’s network. With minimal power consumption, small 1U half rack form factor and integrated Convoy asset propagation, session and fault tolerance management, the Orbit 3020 is the third generation of a range of video servers created to build highly distributed delivery architectures.

Recently, Edgeware integrated these servers with global multi-screen video software innovator SeaChange International’s Adrenalin next generation unified back office. The integration applies to the WTV-2X (News - Alert) and new Orbit 3020 server as well, the company stated.

Offering a complete multiscreen solution with same time support for video-centric wholesale delivery services, the combination of Edgeware’s D-VDN with SeaChange’s Adrenalin back office can considerably lessen operators’ OPEX (News - Alert). Edgeware’s Distributed Video Delivery Network (D-VDN) is a simple and highly scalable platform for video delivery.

Cable operators can now provide modern video and TV on-demand services with the highest Quality of Experience (QoE) from a single platform with Edgeware’s built-in capability to record live TV channels, the company stated in a press release.

“Cable operators will benefit immensely from the solution, as it provides them with a pre-integrated migration path from their existing servers to the next generation multiscreen video services," said Joachim Roos, chief executive officer, Edgeware. "We are set to make our mark on the cable industry to provide premium services in a more cost efficient and scalable way and deliver unmatched QoE.”

Recently, the company announced the availability of Orbit 3020 video server platform in the U.S. market. The Orbit 3020 is the first in a next generation family of video servers that caters to the North American operators' demands for large scalability and flexibility providing the most able power, space and cooling characteristics of any server in its class in the industry. Orbit 3020 video server platform is an integral part of Edgeware's Distributed Video Delivery Network (D-VDN).
