When two companies make a deal to work together it can lead to some interesting situations. In this case, the newest partnership is between
Appcore and IP-Converge. For those of you who are not familiar with the companies involved, IP-Converge is an IT and telecommunications provider for data centers. Appcore is an Infrastructure-as-a-service company. The two have teamed up to provide storage on the cloud to businesses in the surrounding regions of the Philippines. Cloud storage is a system by which companies store data on remote servers that are always available on the Web. This approach allows for a constant access to data at a relatively low cost, since the server spaces can be shared by many companies at the same time.
The product created out of this collaboration is known as Appcore Onsite™.
Appcore Onsite™ is an IaaS solution that is designed to help roll up all of the steps involved in the cloud storage process: hardware, software, networking and support, into a single cloud computing platform that end users can begin to store data on in less than five minutes.
Both of the companies seem to be enthusiastic about the value of the new collaboration. Reynaldo Huergas, the president of IP-Converge, had the following to say in the release, "Our alliance with Appcore further expands our cloud offerings to meet the demand for enterprise applications that help reduce cost and increase efficiency in today's challenging business landscape. We are proud to be the first provider in the Philippines to go to market with this solution powered by our state-of-the-art carrier-neutral Internet data center facility."
Similar sentiments were expressed by Brian Patrick Donaghy, CEO of Appcore, when he said in the same release that, "Appcore's cloud platform offerings are unique -- as we are the only manufacturer in the industry to combine infrastructure, software services, and automated provisioning as a business solution. We deliver the business of cloud through this integrated suite, helping service providers to speed time-to-market and revenue with a platform of resources and applications to use and a portfolio from which they can sell. We are very happy to be working with the world class IP-Converge team to enable cloud services to the entire region."
