Talend Introduces Version 5.1 of Its Enterprise Open Source Integration Platform

Talend recently introduced version 5.1 of its integration platform which has now been enhanced with big data integration and big data quality tools, to make it easy for enterprises to optimize their readiness for mission-critical projects. Version 5.1 of the integration solution will accelerate the adoption and deployment of big data solutions, as the introduction of big data tooling will bring down the complexities of Hadoop programming via a graphical design environment and the shift to an engine-less MapReduce code generation.

In a release, Fabrice Bonan, co-founder and chief operating officer of Talend, said that, "Talend version 5.1 delivers on our vision to provide enterprise-class data integration that is affordable, scalable and easy to use. We are proud to provide the most unified integration solution on the market that powers the IT systems of thousands of large and small enterprises for mission-critical projects."

The Talend Platform for Big Data, which has been designed to work with all Apache Hadoop distributions, has also been enhanced to include advanced data quality capabilities which will help organizations to both identify and link connected records.

The integration of ESB and BPM has also been given a boost in the new Talend v5.1 solution via a new connector, which supports point-and-click connectivity between a business process and web service based on the ESB. The robust integration capabilities will make it possible for organizations to bring down setup and implementation time for all integration projects.

Highlighting capabilities of the Talend v5.1 include, automated deployment of updates within the Talend Runtime OSGi compliant container, which means systems administration groups will be able to optimize deployment and upgrade of runtime environments both on premises on in the Cloud.

Fabio Zuccato, ICT Manager at kleertjes.com, the largest online store for children's clothing in The Netherlands, said that, "Our IT systems leverage many heterogeneous applications, and because we are working in a fast paced environment, agility of integration processes are key. Talend brings together data and services integration in a single unified platform, making it easy and fast for kleertjes.com to develop and deploy data services for all our integration needs."

The newly enhanced platform will also support the Oozie management design for Hadoop to enable workflow management, scheduling as well as management of big data jobs. Furthermore, by including the Kerberos authentication framework integration, Talend has successfully added a new layer of security and levels of permissions for big data that is stored and processed in Hadoop.
