ViaWest to Take Part in Information Technology Forum

Technology options can be overwhelming for companies and, frequently, business owners don’t know where to turn for concrete answers. Fortunately, there are events that cater to the kinds of questions that business professionals might have about information technology infrastructure. And sometimes, these types of forums are provided by individual states, which are often looking to provide answers to companies and foster economic growth within their borders.

Such is the case for the Beaver State, Oregon. The Oregon Economic Development Association is hosting a Data Center and Information Technology Forum on Thursday, May 17. Among the companies participating in the Forum is ViaWest, one of the largest privately-held data center, cloud computing and managed services providers in the nation.

“We are pleased to host the Oregon Economic Development group in our Hillsboro Complex and further its efforts of positively impacting the business climate in Oregon,” said Jim Linkous, regional vice president of sales and general manager for ViaWest, in a press release. “ViaWest has seen tremendous growth throughout this region, from both new companies in the area, and in growth within our existing client base. We are proud to continue serving our clients and partners and sharing with them the benefits of high quality data center and IT infrastructure solutions.”

As part of its participation, the company will conduct tours of its data center facility, which is located in Hillsboro, Oregon. The high-density facility is notable for its 2(N+1) UPS systems and the latest cooling technology, which makes it stand out as one of the most environmentally friendly facilities in the country. The company also announced that it will be adding more than 23,000 square feet of data center space to its current complex, an almost 50 percent increase.
