Fortrust Data Center Partners with Powered by IO to Expand to New Regions

Fortrust Data Center, an enterprise data center services provider that specializes in high availability data center and colocation services, announced today that it will be expanding its presence from Colorado to the southwest and east coast due to the implementation of modular technology from IO, a company which designs, engineers and delivers data center infrastructure to enterprises, governments and service providers.

Fortrust has partnered with IO to deploy data center 2.0 IO modules in Denver, Phoenix and New Jersey. These Fortrust Powered by IO modules will be installed later this month in Denver and Phoenix, while installation won’t take place until later in the second quarter in New Jersey.

“Powered by IO” is a network of data center sites and service providers certified by IO to host its technology which spans the globe. These certified locations and providers provide Data Center as a Service (DCaaS) in certain markets. The Powered by IO program provides participants with IO’s technology platform which delivers high efficiency data centers with densities up to 32kW per rack.

IO has selected Fortrust as its exclusive Colorado partner, which will position DCaaS as the foundation for cloud computing in the Rocky Mountain region.

"We conducted an extensive evaluation of how best to expand our data center and no other technology or business model came close to IO," said Rob McClary, vice president of Fortrust, in a press release. "In addition to providing unmatched, production-grade technology, the Powered by IO program allows us to reduce our capital investments and only purchase what we require — with new capacity delivered fast. Our first two modules were just delivered last week and have already been installed in our Fortrust Denver facility."

Fortrust Data Center’s services, like managed disaster recovery service AppSafe, are used by leading companies. In March, Fortrust selected Elevated Third, one of Denver’s top digital agencies, as its web strategy partner.
