Pacnet Addresses Demand for Data Center Services in Australia

Pacnet (News - Alert) is addressing the growing demand for data center services in Australia by expanding its CloudSpace data centre facility in Sydney.

The Australia data center services market is set to grow to US$1.2 billion in 2017, according to the latest research from Frost and Sullivan

Pacnet wants to tap this market through the expanded Sydney CloudSpace1 (SYCS1) data center that will complement the capacity from four other data centers that Pacnet operates in Australia.

Pacnet recently launched its fourth CloudSpace data center in Hong Kong. Known as HKCS2, this two-storey facility is built within Pacnet's cable landing station in Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate.

The company also has a CloudSpace facility in Singapore. It has a total of 23 data centers across the Asia Pacific region and out of these four are CloudSpace data centers.

“This is the latest in our series of investments into growing our CloudSpace infrastructure, as we expand our capabilities to help businesses take advantage of the cloud,” said Bill Barney, chief executive officer at Pacnet. “In addition to upgrading our current facilities, we are also looking at new geographies as part of our plans for our next phase of CloudSpace data centre expansion.”

Pacnet is a renowned communications provider delivering integrated high-performance data delivery and hosting services on a unified platform.

Pacnet builds these CloudSpace data centers to exacting standards to offer a high-availability environment for mission-critical equipment. These premier Tier III data center facilities offer a high-availability environment for mission-critical equipment.

The company claims these facilities have been designed to address the high-power, high-performance and high-efficiency requirements of content-driven organizations and multi-site organizations.

Pacnet was recently in news when it was named the Best International Wholesale Carrier at the Telecom Asia Awards 2012.
