OpSource (News - Alert) announced that it has joined hands with Zadara Storage to deliver on-demand Virtual Private Storage Arrays to businesses. Zadara specializes in storage solutions for the public cloud.
Zadara Storage’s Virtual Private Storage Array lets subscribers run databases and other demanding applications in the Public Cloud consistently.
In a release, Mark Spowart, CEO of Zadara said, “Public cloud users who create a VPSA with Zadara experience a true, single-tenant server environment, ensuring the high performance and high availability they require does not vary over time.”
“OpSource users are also able to utilize Microsoft (News
- Alert) Failover Cluster in the cloud natively due to OpSource’s architecture, resulting in unmatched ease of use in migrating existing IT applications to the cloud,” Spowart added.
Zadara’s CloudFabric architecture can be leveraged by enterprise public cloud users and other users of OpSource’s Managed Hosting Environment to migrate applications to the public cloud efficiently.
In the absence of such a solution, IT managers had to build a hybrid cloud environment and use equipment available on-premise. This involved expensive and time consuming purchasing or reconfiguring of physical equipment. This also required long-term contracts. The availability of on-demand VPSAs enables IT managers to configure virtual storage arrays to certain specifications as VSPSAs are housed in a virtualized environment.
Users will be able to use all elements of the VPSA as they are assigned specifically to a single tenant. This also ensures privacy and it can work optimally with on-premise arrays in a virtualized environment. This serves as a cost effective solution and the VPSAs can be put to use for IT needs such as optimizing database performance, managing volumes and also for disaster recovery.
Treb Ryan (News - Alert), CEO and co-founder of OpSource, said, “Enterprises choose OpSource for the flexibility, performance and scale-on-demand features that make cloud computing a core enabler of their business. By integrating with Zadara, we are able to extend even more value and options to SaaS (News
- Alert) ISVs and other enterprises with demanding applications to centralize their cloud resources and simplify management.”
A 2011, Forrester Research report, entitled “Market Overview: Public IaaS Clouds, Q4 2011 Part 2,” on public IaaS clouds, highlighted the performance efficiency of OpSource’s SLAs and disaster recovery solutions for IaaS services. OpSource offers, Disaster Recovery (DR) solution atop its IaaS services, according to the report.
