NetScout Announces nGenius Forensic Intelligence

The nGenius Service Assurance Solution from NetScout (News - Alert) is a unified service delivery management platform that offers IT companies with complete, real-time network, application and service performance intelligence. The solution ensures improved network and application performance and quality of experience. It also provides a comprehensive method to administer service delivery that facilitates the IT companies to improve the overall quality.

Recently, the company announced a new analysis module, named nGenius Forensic Intelligence, for the nGenius Service Assurance Solution. According to the company, with the help of this new solution, network operations and information security teams can improve security-focused investigations as they now get automated, accurate and contextual session reconstruction and visual replay.

nGenius Forensic Intelligence offers contextual visualization of IP communications sessions. The solution does this with automated reconstruction and contextual visual replay of a targeted session. This will help the users to get rid of the complications associated with network forensic analysis activities. This will also help an incident investigator to see exactly what a user saw. Also, a chronological list of network activity is displayed to enable the analysis of packet data, the company stated in a press release.

“With the introduction of nGenius Forensic Intelligence, NetScout is bringing meaningful change to the network forensics market landscape with the first automated session reconstruction and replay analysis product integrated into a service assurance platform," said Steven Shalita (News - Alert), vice president marketing at NetScout. "Leveraging one universal intelligent data source that supports service management and forensic analysis activities further extends the value of packet-flow investments while also improving the level of collaboration across IT teams.”

In November 2011, TMC’s (News - Alert) Paula Bernier reported that the company acquired Simena (News - Alert) LLC. The value of the deal was not disclosed. Simena is well known for its low-latency IP packet flow-based network monitoring switching technology. That facilitates companies and services providers to administer and analyze network traffic for data, voice, video, and cybersecurity deployments.
