Ellison Technologies Deploys ScienceLogic's IT Management Platform

Ellison Technologies, the largest machine tool distributor in the U.S., recently selected an IT infrastructure management platform from ScienceLogic, Inc.

According to officials from Ellison Technologies, the platform has allowed the company to derive better results for its IT operations across more than 20 North American locations.

The platform is engineered for the scale, security, automation and high availability necessary to simplify management of constantly shifting resources and data. The ScienceLogic (News - Alert) solution not only monitors multiple operating systems, vendors and platforms, but can support globally distributed network operations of large enterprises and service providers.

The ScienceLogic IT management solution includes a runbook engine, advanced chargeback and cost allocation functions, built-in redundancy for high availability, and the first decentralized monitoring architecture with security from the core to the edge where devices are monitored.

"Ellison's fast growth meant that we needed to take a more proactive approach to managing our IT resources and maintaining excellent support across our locations," said Alex Pour, senior network administrator for Ellison. "ScienceLogic is a tremendous solution that now serves as our eyes and ears for the services we are providing, enabling us to find and fix issues before end users are impacted, as well as justify the need for new IT investments."

Other news reports ScienceLogic has secured $15 million in Series B funding led by Intel Capital, and appointed John Becker as CEO to fuel the next stage in the company's growth. Previous CEO and company co-founder David Link (News - Alert) will remain as chairman of the board. With the most comprehensive and flexible IT management software platform on the market, ScienceLogic is used by service providers, corporations and government entities to improve IT operations efficiency and add new services across data center and cloud computing infrastructures.
