GraphOn Announces New Web Server Patent

GraphOn Corporation is a company that offers fast and secure cloud application delivery and Web-enabling solution. According to the company, the customers can extend the reach of their existing Windows, UNIX, and Linux applications to their company's network or the Web with the help of company’s applications.

Recently, the company announced that it has been issued a new patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. U.S. Patent 8,117,298, issued February 14, 2012 is for an easily configurable Web server that can host various web sites at the same time. With the help of this new technology, small companies or individuals can now afford the price of various, dedicated Web server machines.

This patent guards GraphOn's technology of "configuring" a Web server. Usually this we server will have ability to host multiple Websites at the same time. This is called "multi-homing". This multi-homing ability of the Web server offers the appearance to users of multiple distinct and independent servers at an affordable cost, the company stated in a press release.

“We continue to recognize the vital importance of intellectual property in today's marketplace," stated Eldad Eilam, GraphOn's interim chief executive officer. "We are pleased to add this new patent to our intellectual property portfolio, which helps to protect fundamental technology relating to both the Internet and GraphOn's own products. Our portfolio now includes 25 patents, and more than 30 patent applications are pending. Our objectives include continuing to add significantly to our patent portfolio, maximizing the value of that portfolio.”

Recently, the company introduced its new GO-Global Android (News - Alert) Client, a free Android Client app which is used along with GraphOn's GO-Global Windows Host solution. With the help of this solution, current Windows applications can be offered to any tablet running Google's (News - Alert) Android operating system version 3.0 or later, over LANs, WANs, VPNs or the Internet. The GO-Global Windows Host solution of the company offers instant and secure access to server-resident Windows applications.
