Oracle has announced this WebLogic Server has achieved a world record result for a two processor system with SPECjEnterprise2010 benchmark – an industry-standard. Along with Oracle Linux and Oracle Database 11g Release 2, Oracle WebLogic Server runs on Oracle's Sun Fire x86 servers.
Oracle's Sun Fire X4170 M2 server offers the ideal balance of compute power, memory capacity and I/O capability in a 1RU enclosure, compact and energy-efficient. It’s suited for middleware workloads, application development and systems administration requirements, the company stated in a press release.
Oracle's new world record configuration provides a 53-percent enhancement upon the previous best two processor result. Based on new Intel (News
- Alert) Xeon E5 processors, it also showcases the performance of Sun Fire x86 servers, and runs Oracle software across multiple tiers.
