With an objective to deliver an end-to-end cloud data security solution based on Red Hat (News - Alert) Enterprise Linux to Red Hat customers, Porticor – a company offering cloud data security solutions – recently joined the Red Hat Innovate program.
By joining the Red Hat Innovate program, Porticor is able to leverage the power, openness and collaborative nature of open source communities, including enhanced access to Red Hat collaboration initiatives and software programs.
The Red Hat Innovate program offers its members with benefits such as joint marketing opportunities; access to Red Hat Enterprise Linux and JBoss Enterprise Middleware for development, testing, and production purposes. The program also enables members with alignment with the Red Hat Software Catalog as well as access to Red Hat's OpenShift – a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offering.
As a Red Hat Innovate member, Porticor is capable of offering its Virtual Private Data (VPD) system to users running Red Hat Enterprise Linux. The VPD system can now offer customers access to features such as Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization delivered on the proven open source platform, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and enterprise-level customer support.
“Porticor had an exciting launch of its cloud data security system, and we are pleased it is making its new security system available to users of Red Hat Enterprise Linux,” said Dion Cornett, vice president of Strategic Alliances at Red Hat, in a statement. “We look forward to working with Porticor to drive adoption and contribute to the value they create in the cloud.”
Porticor’s VPD system is the industry's first solution combining data encryption with patented key management to protect critical data in public, private and hybrid cloud environments. Designed for homomorphic split-key encryption technology, it delivers the industry's highest level of data privacy in a public environment for data protection and compliance to regulations such as SOX, HIPAA, PCI (News - Alert) DDS and GLBA, while also solving the issues raised by EU Data Protection and the U.S. Patriot Act.
As a Red Hat Innovate member, the company can now provide access to the Red Hat product and solution portfolio, thereby facilitating Porticor's VPD system to leverage Red Hat's enterprise storage and cloud solutions to deliver additional added value to customers, including large-scale private clouds and market-leading enterprise support.
“Joining the Red Hat Innovate program allows Porticor to deliver an end-to-end cloud data security solution based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux to Red Hat customers,” said Ariel Dan, co-founder and VP of Sales and Marketing, Porticor. “We believe that Red Hat customers will benefit from our leading cloud data security system that is fully cloud-based, dynamic and elastic. This program will also expose Porticor to new sales and marketing opportunities, which will help fuel our growth.”
