OPNET Unveils AppResponse Xpert, SaaS Edition

Modernday network monitoring solutions analyze the end-user experience for all types of applications. They also summarize data according to applications and user-defined business entities. Some of the products offered in this domain also provide troubleshooting capabilities.

OPNET Technologies, a company providing all of the above in its network monitoring products, has unveiled a new software-as-a-service (SaaS (News - Alert)) product for monitoring the performance of Web applications – The AppResponse Xpert SaaS Edition.

The service will be useful to Web apps deployed in a public cloud, the company stated in a press release.

Enhancing user experience monitoring to all those involved, AppResponse Xpert SaaS Edition uses JavaScript to instrument Web pages which the users download. JavaScript instrumentation is helpful to the companies as it assists in monitoring applications installed in a public cloud.

AppResponse Xpert SaaS Edition provides end-user experience (EUE) monitoring for web applications, including the applications hosted in the cloud. Users can instrument their applications with JavaScript to obtain in-depth EUE monitoring information within minutes of signing up for the service on OPNET's Web site.

OPNET recently introduced NetMapper, a network diagramming solution that eliminates the need for network diagramming by automatically publishing up-to-date network diagrams containing detailed physical and logical views, including Layer 2/3, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VLANs, and BGP.
