Terramark Introduces the Next-generation Private Enterprise Cloud

Cloud features, such as scalability and on-demand resource allocation, are fundamental to why an increasing number of companies and large enterprises are incorporating the cloud into their business. These companies can eliminate the need for physical hardware as well as the expenditures it entails. In turn, they receive access to massive computing and storage resources, then pay only for pro-rated computing services and usage. However, building a cloud that meets everyone’s expectations—individual users, SMBs, enterprises—is a constant work in progress.

As the technologies for implementing cloud platforms continue to mature, the variety of skills necessary as well as an understanding of the cloud requires a level of technical knowledge that spans several areas. While sensitive data in the cloud requires extra scrutiny, it’s also increasingly clear that hybrid clouds offer a viable solution. Recently, Terremark, a leader in transforming and securing enterprise-class IT on a global scale, announced the release of its private cloud solution, Enterprise Cloud Private Edition, an extension of the company’s hybrid cloud strategy. It offers customers the capability of migrating application workloads between traditional and cloud environments in a seamless and secure way.

According to Ellen Rubin, Terremark’s vice president of Cloud Products, “Our Private Edition solution is designed to meet the strong customer demand we’ve seen for the agility, cost efficiencies and flexibility of cloud computing, delivered in a single-tenant, dedicated environment. Since the initial launch of the Enterprise Cloud four years ago, Terremark has been a recognized leader in delivering the innovative, enterprise-class cloud computing solutions and complementary secure IT infrastructure services that large companies and government agencies are leveraging as they migrate from traditional IT infrastructure to a hybrid model.”

Companies need to anticipate attacks as well as security breaches, and initiate pro-active, risk-management approaches. While third parties are available for checking up to 80 percent of network infrastructures, it’s up to internal IT teams to evaluate the remaining 20 percent.

That’s where the usefulness of a private cloud maintained by a reputable cloud service provider such as Terramark can make a difference. The company offers the service-level agreements, security models, professional services, and world-class data centers that allow organizations to run their critical production applications in the cloud with confidence.

With its compelling hybrid model for enterprise IT, customers can connect seamlessly to Terremark’s public and private cloud services for workload portability. The CloudSwitch software also supports multiple clouds allowing customers to migrate application workloads to other cloud providers or back to their data centers. Terramark’s Enterprise Cloud Private Edition solution is available now, and is delivered from Terremark cloud-enabled data centers across its global footprint of strategically located facilities.
