ISG Introduces New Consumption Management

Information Services Group (ISG) announced its new Consumption Management service on Friday, a solution that will help IT departments with asset management and reconciliation.

With the help of strategic partner Blazent, the company created a solution that optimizes IT operations with lower costs and fewer risks. Companies can purchase as a stand-alone product or with the ISG Governance Services.

Claude Marais, one of the partners of Governance Services, ISG, feels the solution is perfect for companies lacking IT knowledge. "This knowledge gap costs their companies money and creates unnecessary risk. Consumption Management from ISG closes this gap," he said in a statement.

Unlike other solutions, ISG offers a secure solution that will help companies who otherwise have a gap in their systems. According to an analysis of 70 IT enterprises in Fortune 500 companies, 15 percent of the companies have “Book-to-floor” gaps. This means servers are not backed up in case of crashing and Windows-based programs are not anti-virus protected, and it’s surprising to most in the industry who understand the importance of protecting a server.

A company does not need extensive IT knowledge to use these tools, and a company can validate resources, verify backups and access existing anti-virus software. It will also identify redundant programs and files.

Some features also ensure companies accurately bill clients, creating less invoicing errors. Blazent Vice President Greg Weaver explains that the ability to use these tools “takes service management to a new level.” It will help a company not only be more efficient, but mature as a company.

Using ISG Consumption Management will also help companies save money on outsourcing. The solution allows IT departments within a company to handle billing instead of reaching out to outside companies to do the work. The program will cut costs and time while improving customer relations.
