EMC Brings Content Management App to iPhone

EMC (News - Alert) Corporation has announced the launch of updated version of a mobile application, which will now enable businesses and service providers to manage enterprise content securely and quickly using their iPhone (News - Alert).

EMC has also delivered a new release of EMC Documentum D2, an application for configuring user client interfaces for the Documentum platform, without having to create any code.

Part of the EMC Information Intelligence Group’s mission is to support users of post-PC (tablet and mobile) devices. This means making compelling user experiences available on a range of devices, while supporting the creation of new information-enabled solutions

With that in mind, the EMC Documentum Mobile app is now available for iPhone and iPod Touch mobile devices, in addition to the iPad. It has been created to be intuitive, simple and secure, while providing access to enterprise content through a media-enabled interface with full corporate compliance.

The latest release of the app also supports the latest iPad and iOS platforms along with push notifications.

Documentum D2, meanwhile, enables IT professionals and power users to configure content applications without the need to create custom code. The solution offers a browser-based environment to make Documentum access easier.

The latest version includes support for additional languages and can be customized for the instant roll-out of new features and capabilities.

EMC, which acquired Pivotal Labs this week, has just launched a social toolset for big data that aims to help data science teams to collaborate on datasets in a social network-type format.

The company will be demonstrating several of its products, including the Documentum Mobile App and Documentum D2, at the AIIM (Association for Information and Image Management) Conference in San Francisco, Calif. The conference will take place from March 21-23.
