Fujitsu Intros CX400 Multi-Node Server

Japanese information and communication technology firm, Fujitsu Technology Solutions (News - Alert) has introduced the new PRIMERGY CX400 S1 multi-node Cloud eXtension server.

Belonging to the company’s Cloud eXtension family, the new PRIMERGY CX400g is backed by 38-node PRIMERGY CX1000 cloud server platform.

Company officials said that they have released this new eXtension server for users seeking better energy efficiency, higher platform density and better management effectiveness when using their cloud computing, high performance virtualization, hosting or virtual-client computing strategies.

This cost-effective, energy-efficient server offers smart scale-out capabilities and combines established front-to-back cooling and rear-side external connectivity to slot easily into existing racks.

It comes in a small "4in2U" design that requires 50 percent less space, and even includes an extensive hot-plug to keep the system up and running during maintenance. The server also offers smart scale-out capabilities for private cloud, high-performance computing (HPC) and large-scale virtualization.

Jens-Peter Seick, Senior Vice President of the Product Development Group at Fujitsu (News - Alert) said that the new PRIMERGY CX400 readily demonstrates the company’s philosophy of field innovation and a constant drive to increase the power and flexibility of their cloud computing systems.

“The multi-node Cloud eXtension system enables smart scale-out, and lowers costs while also increasing the performance, productivity and flexibility of both Cloud and High Performance Computing solutions," Seick added.

Fujitsu is currently offering a comprehensive set of cloud computing solutions for enterprises of all sizes. The PRIMERGY family consists of three interchangeable low-, medium- and high-end server nodes: PRIMERGY CX210 S1, CX250 S1 and CX270 S1 models.

Company officials said that both the Fujitsu PRIMERGY CX400 S1 enclosure and CX250 S1 standard 1U server node will hit the market by the end of March 2012.
