IO Delivers Data Center as a Service to Impulse

Impulse Advanced Communications (News - Alert) will now be leveraging IO’s Data Center as a Service (DCaaS) which will be delivered out of the IO Phoenix data center. This approach supplies Impulse, a communications service provider, with a high-performance, cost-effective solution.

IO, which provides next-generation modular data center technology and services , notes that Impulse does not have to invest resources to build and maintain its own data center.

Impulse offers a range of services including Dedicated Internet access, Enhanced Quality Internet Access, and ClearStar hosted IP PBX (News - Alert) service. It also offers local and long distance telephone service, hosting, co-location, managed virtual private networks and MPLS networks.

"Our value proposition is designing voice and data networks that prepare customers for growth, and IO provides us with scalability to accommodate the expansion we need to make to keep pace with our customers," said Dave Clark, president, Impulse Advanced Communications.

Uptime Institute awarded the Tier III Design Certification to the IO Phoenix data center and IO claims that IO Phoenix is the largest commercially available data center in the United States to achieve this milestone thus far.

"IO Phoenix is a great match for us because of the area's limited risk from natural disasters - important for Southern California companies like Impulse. Also, IO provides robust network connectivity which is critical to our business communications services," said Clark.

Last year, IO received a contract from Suntron (News - Alert) Corporation, a provider of electronics manufacturing services and embedded computing solutions. As per the agreement, IO will provide Suntron with its Data Center as a Service (DCaaS) at IO Phoenix, delivered through its modular data center technology platform IO Anywhere.
