Aitech Expands its CompactPCI-Based Product Line

Aitech Defense Systems Inc., is expanding its growing CompactPCI (News - Alert)-based product line with the introduction of the C802.

The newly released 3U CompactPCI SBC (single board computer) is based on the high-performance Intel (News - Alert) Core i7 processor, according to Aitech Defense Systems, a pioneer in true military embedded and mission critical computing technologies for environmentally-demanding military, defense and aerospace applications.

Aitech Defense Systems claims that the speeds of C802 can be factory-configured to a high performance 2.53 GHz, a lower power 2.0 GHz or an ultra low power 1.33 GHz depending on application needs.

The next generation of Aitech's C800 SBC incorporates enhanced memory capabilities to enable system designers to maintain their technology investments in the proven 3U CompactPCI platform.

Available in five 100 percent software compatible versions, the C802 SBC is shock- and vibration-resistant and offers an operating temperature of -55 degrees C to +85 degrees C.

Aitech Defense Systems claims that the new release is ideal for high performance, data and graphics intensive applications in extreme environmental conditions, such as manned and robotic vehicles, avionics and more advanced ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance) applications.

Thanks to C802’s advanced Core i7 Pentium architecture, it is also suited for several other embedded and harsh environment military and defense applications. The new SBC also features extensive, high speed DDR3 and Flash memory arrays to provide large volatile and non-volatile memory.

Other features of C802 include extensive I/O capabilities and an integrated 2D/3D graphics GPU engine that supports graphics and video processing and provides the HDMI/DVI and CRT video output channels.
