SonicWALL Wins NSS Labs' 'Recommend' Rating

NSS Labs has announced that SonicWALL’s (News - Alert) SuperMassive E10800 earned its “Recommend” rating.

Targeted at large companies to deliver scalability, reliability and deep security at multi-gigabit speeds, the SonicWALL SuperMassive E10000 Series is SonicWALL’s Next-Generation Firewall platform.

The SuperMassive E10000 Series is suited for securing enterprise networks, data centers and server farms, and caters to the requirements of enterprise, government, university, and service provider deployments. The SuperMassive E10000 Series offers features like application control, malware protection and SSL inspection, the company stated in a press release.

“There’s no two ways about it: SuperMassive E10800 had the best combination of performance, effectiveness and value of any firewall tested,” said Patrick Sweeney, vice president of Product Management and Corporate Marketing at SonicWALL in a company press release. “We’re throwing down the gauntlet and establishing SonicWALL as the leader in enterprise, data center, service provider and government deployed next-generation firewalls.”

NSS Labs measured the SuperMassive E10800 at 18.9 Gbps of inspected throughput. NSS Labs has announced that for every second, the SonicWALL device yielded the highest level of real-world HTTP Connections.

The lab stated that SuperMassive E10000 Series makes it easy for large organizations to implement complex policies for targeted users. The SuperMassive E10000 Series also provides other important features such as intrusion prevention and full content inspection of the entire stream, the company has stated.

Recently, the company launched its Mobile Connect client app for Google (News - Alert) Android smartphones and tablets. The app is available as a free download via the Android Market. It provides users of Android-based smartphones and tablets with network-level access to corporate, academic and government resources over encrypted SSL VPN connections.

With the app installed, mobile users can access these resources across SonicWALL appliances, including SonicWALL Aventail (News - Alert) E-Class Secure Remote Access (SRA), SRA for SMB and SonicWALL Next-Generation Firewalls.
