EF Johnson to Test Interoperability and Performance Standards with Aeroflex's Test Technology

Aeroflex Incorporated and EF Johnson Technologies Inc. have entered into a partnership where Aeroflex (News - Alert) will extend its automated test and alignment capabilities for EFJohnson P25 radios. The Aeroflex 3920 Digital Radio Test Set will initially test capabilities for the EFJohnson 5100ES and 5300ES Radio Series.

In a release, Randy O’Connor, manager of Technical Operations at EF Johnson Technologies, said that, “This will be a very important tool for our dealers and end users. The automation will provide fast and consistent results in the field.”

Aeroflex’s Automated Test and Alignment procedure will offer complete automated testing and alignment of EFJohnson radios. The test technology which does not require a user interaction will help in establishing reliable testing and alignment based on specifications as defined by the manufacturer as well in compliance with industry standards. This will ensure required level of interoperability and reliability in standard of performance within the network technology of the radio.

Mike Fortna, senior product marketing engineer at Aeroflex, said that, “Aeroflex is pleased to have the opportunity to provide this unique test technology for EFJohnson radios. The 3920 provides an advanced method for repeatable and highly accurate test and alignment for EFJohnson radios that requires minimal technical interface. Since the 3920 provides fully automated tests and alignment processes, EFJohnson dealers and end users can now utilize their technical resources to provide higher value services.”

The EFJohnson Auto-Test II Option has now been made available. The Aeroflex 3920 has a typical delivery time of eight weeks from the date of receipt of order. The company focuses on creating, developing, and distributing the highest quality secure communications solutions to organizations whose goal is to protect and save lives.

In other news from August 2011, Aeroflex Incorporated and Cassidian, an EADS (News - Alert) company, announced the successful installation of a major new RF expansion module (RFEM) at All Nippon Airways (ANA) for the Cassidian ATEC Series 6 automated test equipment for RF avionics testing.

The ATEC Series 6 is one of the most widely used test platforms in the civil aerospace and military aftermarket. The ATEC Series 6 is used by airlines and original equipment manufacturers such as Honeywell, Airbus, and Thales (News - Alert).
