Polystar Launches Next Generation Mobile Data Service Assurance Solution

Polystar (News - Alert) recently announced the launch of its next generation Mobile Data Service Assurance Solution. This new release will enable Polystar to provide complete end-to-end visibility into subscribers' behavior, device consumption, quality of service and performance of all mobile data networks, including LTE (News - Alert). Polystar is one of the leading suppliers of service assurance, network monitoring, and test solutions for the telecom market.

The company has noticed a major shift in consumer behavior and usage patterns, and has redesigned its mobile data monitoring solution to meet the demands of this ever-changing mobile data environment.

In a release, Thomas Nilsson, CTO at Polystar, said, "All last year, we worked on redesigning our Mobile Data Monitoring solution. We basically started with a white piece of paper and remade everything. From late summer last year, we have been running our solution live for both 3G and LTE at selected customers, and are now happy to announce that it will become generally available in our 4.6 release scheduled for the middle of March 2012." The new scalable platform will handle today's bandwidth demands, as well as support future data explosion and service migration from the circuit to the packet world.

The new version 4.6 comes with improved system architecture that has been specially designed to cope with Mobile Data. While the architectural changes are common, they are currently only being applied to GTP and Diameter protocols.

Some of the new enhancements include: persistency in that system components can keep the state of sessions on restarts, upgrades, and maintenance; multi-protocol correlation for both on-going and closed sessions; enhanced user plane troubleshooting in the Event Analyser application; searchability for on-going data calls in OSIX Call Trace, both in Real Time and Historical Mode and constant memory usage for state machines handling GTP and Diameter, making the system robust and scalable with low and predictable hardware footprint.
