Radisys Debuts Trillium TOTALeNodeB

Radisys’ new Trillium TOTALeNodeB LTE (News - Alert) small cell solution is designed to equip telecom equipment manufacturers (TEM) with a complete, integrated LTE eNodeB and almost halve the typical product development time of LTE small cells.

According to Radisys, the Trillium TOTALeNodeB software is synonymous with high quality and superior performance and is the next generation Trillium small cell solution that delivers an integrated small cell software implementation which is deployable off-the-shelf. TOTALeNodeB lets TEMs to comply with operators’ specific requirements and bring down financial risks.

The TOTALeNodeB is said to be built on the Trillium LTE protocol stacks that are standards-based and let customers to quickly develop LTE infrastructure to compete for early design wins in the dynamic LTE marketplace. It is a turnkey, deployment-proven small cell software that can be integrated on major SoC platforms. The off-the-shelf software is built from the ground up for usability and maintainability and features consistent TAPA architecture for rapid application extension and simplified future upgrades.

TOTALeNodeB includes the Trillium LTE eNodeB application, radio resource management (RRM), radio environment monitoring (REM), self-organizing network (SON), schedulers and all of the Trillium protocol layers. TEMs can also merge TOTALeNodeB with Radisys’ Femtotality 3G WCDMA small cell solution to create a dual-mode small cell deployment of both technologies.

Some of the notable features of TOTALeNodeB are self-organizing networks (SON) capability; radio interference management and radio environment map (REM); complete OA&M solution based on TR-069 and TR-169 standards from the Broadband Forum (News - Alert) including zero-touch configuration, firmware management and fault management; compliance with 3GPP small cell standards; IOT with major femtocell gateway vendors; and more.

“We’ve created reference designs in the past and now we’re moving to a complete solution by adding the application layer on the framework. With TOTALeNodeB, TEMs can choose from a range of integrated packages on a variety of chipsets to get a complete solution for migrating from 3G to LTE. In addition, we can provide any level of professional services needed throughout the development and deployment process,” claimed Todd Mersch, product line management director at Radisys, in a press release.
