AT&T (News
- Alert) is now offering a new service platform, Synaptic Compute as a Service for users of VMware. This service allows VMware companies to switch cloud use back and forth from their private cloud to AT&T’s virtual private network (VPN). The additional cloud service will prevent virtual data overload and offer support in a number of other areas.
John Potter, vice president of As a Service Solutions for AT&T Business Solutions, explained in the press release, “Our new cloud offer with VMware can help customers simplify the way they orchestrate their cloud resources between private and public clouds, allowing them to have the best of both worlds.”
But that’s not all it does. Synaptic Compute will also support bursting, disaster recovery, and mobile application development and deployment.
Dan Chu, vice president of cloud infrastructure and services at VMware added, “AT&T’s participation in the VMware vCloud Datacenter Services program creates a new cloud offer for our customers that harnesses the security, performance and reliability of AT&T’s network-based cloud with the industry-leading VMware vCloud platform that is the standard data center environment for our enterprise customers.”
But don’t just take my word for it. Concur is a VMware company that uses Synaptic Compute as a Service in order to ensure data recovery in the event of a disaster.
Stephen deRham, senior vice president of research and development at Concur Technologies (News
