North American Railway Company to Leverage WFT Cloud for its SAP Solutions

By moving its SAP (News - Alert) landscape to WFT Cloud, a railway company based in North America is hoping to bring down its hardware costs and increase flexibility.

Wharfedale Technologies (WFT Cloud) claimed that it better understands the current market trend where SAP solutions are moving towards software provided as a service. The company helps clients leverage their existing investment in SAP solutions by moving towards a fast, flexible and more automated virtualized environment.

The North American railway company is in the process of restructuring its SAP landscape and decided to move its development, testing, training and sandbox systems into the cloud. WFT Cloud with its reliability, stability, security, compliance, capacity on-demand and seamless migration capabilities is said to have catered to all the performance requirements set by the railway company.

With WFT Cloud, the railway company is supposed to be free from its commitment to specific hardware requirements and also decrease maintenance costs via an automated, more agile, consolidated and highly available SAP environment.

“When customers need to add capacity or storage, they are often constrained by technology. This often requires a longer commitment involving provisioning, racking, stacking and managing the new technology. Freedom from physical capacity planning makes a big difference in costs and is made possible in WFT Cloud, on which the service provider has created a dedicated virtual private cloud within a public cloud as necessary to raise utilization and make operation efficient,” said WFT Cloud officials in a press release.

Some of the notable features of the WFT Cloud services are: users have options to build their own private cloud environments for SAP applications on the Cloud Provider Infrastructure; SAP environment is integrated with the speed efficiency and automation that cloud computing is known for; SAP certified cloud service; easy provisioning and scalable, flexible cloud service; and more.

In other news from July 2011, Wharfedale Technologies, Inc. (WFT) announced that it will provide support services for customers deploying SAP on Amazon Web Services (News - Alert) (AWS). WFT will be providing technical and functional support for customers' SAP systems running on AWS.
