iWay Software, a subsidiary of UBM plc, and a full-service integration provider, signed a partnership deal to deploy its technology to UBM Global Trade, a provider of proprietary data, news, and other content supporting the commercial shipping industries.
UBM Global Trade chose iWay’s technology to automate its data feed digestion and load process. Through this partnership, UBM Global Trade will drive a fundamental re-engineering of its core business to make internal processes more effective and better serve its client base.
“There is a staggering amount of data involved in the commercial shipping industry and organizations are increasingly clamoring for real-time access to this information,” Nathan Tableman, vice president of Technology for UBM GT said in a statement.
“Through UBM's partnership with iWay, we're ensuring that our clients get the intelligence our systems provide as quickly as possible by automating our internal processes end to end. The results from our initial rollout underscore that this solution is meeting a critical business need, and I'm confident our subscribers will reap significant benefits from this new model,” Tableman added.
UBM Global Trade PIERS is the most comprehensive database of U.S. waterborne trade activity providing subscribers with critical business intelligence that support their trade activities. Launched more than 35 years ago, PIERS was the first venture in digital global trade intelligence which has eventually become the industry standard for accuracy, reliability, and insight.
Raw data from numerous sources comes to UBM GT in different formats, which the company standardizes and processes before loading it into its database and distributing it to subscribers. UBM GT is of the opinion that prior to working with iWay, this whole process was done through manual data input. With the new partnership, UBM is automating the entire process, reducing both the time it takes to integrate data from disparate sources and distribute the information to its clients.
UBM said that the new model enables it to efficiently arm its subscribers with the business insights they need to do their jobs effectively and maintain their position in competitive marketplaces.
“At iWay, we're familiar with the challenges associated with integrating data from disparate sources,” Gregory Dorman, general manager of iWay Software, said in a press release.
“By implementing our technology, UBM will free up manpower associated with manual data entry and also ensure greater overall data quality. In today's increasingly competitive market, this will be a key critical differentiator for the company and we're honored to play a part in the endeavor,” Dorman added.
