By Mini SwamyTo combat the growing threat of malicious and rogue programs like Trojans, viruses and worms and to prevent cybercriminals from attacking computer systems, Emsisoft has released its Online Armor 5.5 to protect Windows users.
Well known for its security programs, Emsisoft’s latest Online Armor 5.5 monitors the network continuously and allows access only to authorized programs. As all suspicious actions are blocked and vulnerabilities sealed, hackers are prevented from accessing the system.
The firewall increases security and ease-of use for customers and operates in the background without interrupting users’ work flow. Two new cloud services make all this possible.
Integration of the Emsisoft Anti-Malware Network helps Online Armor to classify new programs as ‘safe or unsafe’. These are added to the existing database of malicious programs and viruses. Continuous update of this list allows malware to be detected more reliably.
Apart from this, the Online Armor 5.5 uses in-house cloud-scanning. New and unknown programs are scanned using the Emsisoft E1 scan-engine. They then get added to more than seven million signatures of malicious programs that are present in the cloud database. Hence programs can be verified immediately.
In addition, software updates can be installed faster and licenses can be activated with simple product keys.
Emsisoft Online Armor Free is for free-of-charge use for private users and comes with a firewall, keylogger detector and offers web protection. The premium edition, priced at $40 for the first year, has advanced features. The new Internet Security Pack, priced at $50 for the first year, is a bundled version of the Premium edition and Emsisoft Anti-Malware.
