GSX Lists Six Microsoft SharePoint Challenges in New E-Book

In a new e-book, GSX Solutions has explained how its management and monitoring tools can help address six Microsoft (News - Alert) SharePoint challenges. The company offers solutions for monitoring and reporting of enterprise collaboration environments which include Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint, Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) and Lotus Notes.

The increased focus on making SharePoint more mission-critical has ironically also led to a fall in the application’s performance and a subsequent increase in implementation and maintenance costs.

Leveraging the new GSX (News - Alert) management tools, organizations can easily learn how to handle the SharePoint server proliferation and the associated problems of inefficient IT resources use and outages among other issues.

In an effort to raise awareness about the capabilities of the GSX management tools, the company has highlighted six commonly occurring problems with SharePoint and how its tools have been designed to address these challenges specifically to ensure seamless running of system while also improving the customers ROI.

The six problem areas identified with SharePoint include: how to get load-testing results which are realistic; what to do when you keep running out of resources; how to be sure that all your sites are working in sync; how to measure user experience; what to do when all SharePoint experts are busy, and how to get a better understanding of user complaints.

Often, legacy monitoring tools are incapable of picking up and identifying issues even when they are present. To address these issues, GSX engineers started concentrating on monitoring data integrity and subsequent user outcomes along with monitoring of SharePoint servers.

Enabling a shift in the focus of monitoring capabilities and their use has now made it possible for administrators to view service levels from the user's perspective which makes it easy for them to address any SharePoint issues much before they can start causing any problems.

What further adds to the value of the GSX Monitor is that it has been designed for agentless deployment on the workstation of the client. The solution provides the user with an integrated and holistic view of the collaboration environment and an increased control over it.
