Offering one of the richest I/O sets available for a wide range of embedded applications, VIA (News - Alert) Technologies has unveiled the VIA EPIA-M910 Mini-ITX board, the latest dual core Mini-ITX board.
Paired with the VIA VX900 media system processor, which provides the ideal platform for today’s HD-intensive applications, the VIA EPIA-M910 is available in both active and passive cooling configurations with the choice of either a performance oriented 1.6 GHz VIA Nano X2 dual core processor or a fanless 1.0 GHz VIA Eden X2 dual core processor.
“The VIA EPIA-M910 Mini-ITX board delivers a highly optimized platform that boasts comprehensive HD video performance, HD audio and HDMI support in a compact, power-efficient package” said Epan Wu, head of the VIA Embedded Platform Division, VIA Technologies, Inc., in a company press release. “The rich I/O provides the connectivity and flexibility demanded by today’s ever diversifying embedded applications.”
Providing the utmost flexibility to match a wide range of embedded computing needs, the rich I/O set of the VIA EPIA-M910 features HDMI and VGA display connectivity ports with pin headers for two 24-bit LVDS (one single channel and one dual channel), eight USB 2.0 ports, dual Gigabit LAN networking, eight COM ports (which can be expanded to twelve with the VIA LPC-01/02 add-on card) and is available in SKU’s with either DC-in or ATX power supply support, the company stated.
In other news, One month after Google released the source code for Android (News - Alert) 4.0, the Android x86 project was announced. VIA Technologies has announced that it has extended its support for the Android operating system to more of its mainboards. Moving forward, all of the x86 VIA mainboards will support Android, starting with the small EITX-3002 mainboard.
