EdgeWave Reveals Two Key Executive Appointments

EdgeWave Inc. has recently welcomed two technology veterans to its management team. Dave Maquera has been appointed into the role of president, while Steve Kelley has been appointed SVP of Corporate Development and Product Strategy.

Maquera will report to EdgeWave CEO Lou Ryan, and Kelley will report to Maquera, EdgeWave clarified in a press release.

The move is intended to free the company’s CEO from day-to-day internal operations, allowing him to concentrate on other business –related issues. With Maquera taking charge, Ryan will now be able to devote more time to work with the investors with a strategic roadmap focused on pursuing joint ventures and forging partnerships. 

Dave Maquera boasts an illustrious career spanning over 25 years. As a University of Pennsylvania alumni and receiving an M.B.A. from Harvard, Maquera started his career by enlisting in the U.S. Navy. He served for ten years in the Navy, where he was an aviator and Desert Storm combat veteran, and served as a chief operations officer for Joint Warfare and Combat Flight Operations.

Prior to joining EdgeWave, Maquera was the chief strategy officer and senior vice president of Clearwire (News - Alert). During his stint with Clearwire, he led strategic and corporate initiatives that culminated into strategic partnerships and funding opportunities.  Before working at that company, he was vice president of strategic development for Cricket Communications (News - Alert)/Leap Wireless, Inc., where he was instrumental in driving the growth of its broadband wireless market.

Steve Kelley brings over 15 years of security software industry experience. Kelley is an expert in the fields of technology strategy, product management and business development. Prior to joining EdgeWave, Kelley was the EVP of BeyondTrust, where he helped enhance the firm's product and M&A strategy to reposition the company as the global leader of Privileged Identity Management solutions across physical, virtual and cloud-based data centers.
