Avangate Upgrades Payment Platform to Attract New Customers

eCommerce solutions vendor Avangate has upgraded its flagship online payment platforms, Dankort and UKash, in an attempt to target new customers in Middle Eastern and Latin American countries.

The payment solution vendor has added localization capabilities to its payment methods so as to make them ideal choices for software and SaaS (News - Alert) companies in emerging economies.

The news comes after Avangate partnered with AVS4You to optimize its eCommerce Strategy.

These additions, according to the company, help software companies improve conversion rates in the region they operate.

The Avangate eCommerce platform supports 28 languages and more than 30 payment methods. Its unique quality is localization as it displays geographic-specific pricing and taxes.

The company claims that Dankort is popular payment method in Denmark and used by about 74 percent of Danish debit card holders. Interestingly, Denmark leads the Nordic countries with the highest number of online purchases per capita.

Those who own VISA/Dankort card can use it at over 24 million outlets around the world as an international debit card. Avangate says Dankort now supports Danish localization, including order interface and my Account shopper area in Danish and the local Danish Krone currency.

According to the company’s statement, UKash vouchers are distributed in more than 420,000 locations in 50 countries around the world, and they are issued online and through shops, kiosks, ATMs and telephone booths, and can be delivered as printed-paper receipts, single-use cards, SMS or email.

Because every voucher has unique and secure 19-digit PIN, value, currency and expiration date, every voucher is guaranteed and prepaid, enabling both vendors and customers to avoid the risks of fraud.

“With online sales growing exponentially worldwide, software and SaaS vendors are increasingly turning to commerce platforms that enable them to quickly penetrate new markets and geographies,” said Michael Ni, senior vice president of Marketing and Products at Avangate.
