Talend Included in Gartner's "Who's Who in Open-Source Data Quality" Report

Open source data management company Talend has revealed that it has been included in Gartner’s recent “Who’s Who in Open-Source (News - Alert) Data Quality (2012 Update)” report.

The company was recognized for its enterprise data quality management solution including Talend Enterprise Data Quality. Open source data quality solutions are gaining popularity as they offer several benefits such as cost efficiency, rapid deployment, integration flexibility and turnkey scalability, according to Talend officials.

The Talend Enterprise Data Quality delivers not only data profiling and discovery, but also data cleaning, data enrichment, data migration and data synchronization functionality, the company said in a press release. The solution integrates with Talend’s other products allowing for seamless collaboration with data integration, master data management, enterprise service bus and business process management.

Additionally, Gartner’s (News - Alert) report also highlighted the Talend Open Studio for Data Quality, a freely downloadable data quality tool offered under an open source license. While most commercially available solutions are complex, the open source quality management solutions like that offered by Talend allow organizations to address the overall issue of data management in a cost-effective manner. Unlike the commercially available solutions, Talend’s approach does not require software licensing and term contracts.

In its Who’s Who in Open-Source Data Quality report, Gartner officials said, “Organizations consider the market convergence of data quality tools with data integration platforms, and look for data quality solutions that are easily integrated into data integration data flows.”

“As more organizations recognize that understanding data quality issues early in the game, and delivering clean data between systems, are mission-critical imperatives, open source software offers a viable alternative for companies that need to implement cost-effective solutions to address their data quality and data integration needs,” Bertrand Diard, CEO and co-founder, Talend, added in a statement.

“As the primary open-source provider of data quality solutions, we offer enterprise-ready products that are unmatched in their capabilities, while remaining flexible and cost-effective to use,” Diard concluded.

Talend has recently unveiled its redesigned partner program, the Talend Alliance Program designed to help systems integrators (SIs) and value-added resellers (VARs) develop and promote solutions in conjunction with Talend.
