Global Technologies Makes First Appearance at ITEXPO

The temperatures are rising and the convention center is filling up here in South Beach as Editor’s Day at ITEXPO (News - Alert) East 2012, taking place this week from Jan. 31 to Feb. 3 in Miami, Fla., is in full swing.

One company that headed East to the communications conference this year for the first time ever is Global Technologies, a specialty technology execution services, outsourced fulfillment and construction services provider for the telecommunications industry, utilities and governments throughout the United States, Europe and Africa. Around since 2005, Global Technologies is an infrastructure service provider.

Whether it’s being tasked with designing, building or installing outside and inside plant infrastructure equipment or maintaining fiber optic cable, copper cable and coaxial cables, Global Technology stands ready to help service providers’ vendors, according to company officials.

“We are a turnkey service provider,” Joseph Mwachullah, president and chief executive officer at Global Technologies, told TMCnet today. “You can come to us for everything. We are a one-stop shop.”

Founded seven years ago, Global Technologies was established by officials who came from Comcast, AT&T and Avaya (News - Alert), among other places. In other words, as Mwachullah put it, “we have guys who know how to install the equipment.”

The company’s customers span from Ericsson to West Tower to SBA Communications (News - Alert), or any project management firm. Global Technologies currently has a physical presence in 19 states and it services the rest of the U.S. through its remote offices. It also has established an international presence as it has three offices in Africa and one in South America.

When asked what makes Global Technologies stand out amongst its competitors, Mwachullah said it’s because of its reputation.

“We’ve got really good people that actually came from somewhere,” he said.

Because of its stellar reputation, this year Global Technologies decided to expand its footprints into Florida and as of next week it will open up three new offices in Tampa, Orlando, and Jacksonville. According to Mwachullah, Florida has been a great market for the company and has also provided a place full of talented of workers who are in search for employment. Global Technologies will be creating 250 to 260 new jobs with this expansion.

In addition to visiting with a lot of vendors it works with – such as Avaya and Cisco (News - Alert) – Global Technologies is looking forward to sitting in on the various 4G and cloud sessions to keep its finger on the pulse about what is going on in the industry at ITEXPO this week. The company is particularly interested to hear industry leader’s thoughts on 4G as Global Technologies has been offering solutions for 4G long before 4G was popular, Mwachullah said.

“Before cell phone towers, the work was super cumbersome and there was huge equipment,” he said. “With the new 4G deployments, it’s getting smaller, sleeker, faster, easier to use. We have the experience with 4G as we have been doing it since it stated. We were doing 4G when it was still a test market thing and over the years we’ve learned what to do and what not to do what works and what doesn’t work.”
