Dell, SUSE Team to Offer Linux Enterprise Server to Customers

Dell (News - Alert) and SUSE have teamed up to offer customizable, integrated systems based on SUSE Linux Enterprise with services and support for customers worldwide.

Dell OEM Solutions customers are at advantage with the new partnership, as they are able to customize any Dell-standard hardware within its extensive portfolio to make use of the performance, reliability and security that is offered by SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. This customization helps in reducing cost and time to market.

Nils Brauckmann, president and general manager, SUSE said that this partnership marks another milestone in their ongoing relationship with Dell and it combines Dell's OEM product, industry standard hardware and global services capabilities with SUSE's flexible, reliable and cost-effective operating system and tools, to meet the specific needs of the embedded and OEM markets.

This new partnership will enable Dell to use SUSE Studio, which helps in building and deploying application stacks based on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server onto Dell OEM (News - Alert) Solutions' embedded, built-to-order and customized solutions.

Dell can use the SUSE Studio to help its OEM customers to reduce the complexity and overhead costs that goes with the introduction of integrated systems to market.
