Resara Releases Version 1.1 of Resara Server

Offering a hassle-free Linux domain controller based on Samba4, Resara LLC has announced the release of version 1.1 of Resara Server.

Under pressure to modernize their networks, Netware users have shown lots of interest in Resara Server. Resara Server offers an attractive and cost-effective exit strategy with Novell’s future uncertain, and the prospect of a costly investment in Suse Linux Enterprise or Microsoft (News - Alert) Active Directory, the company stated in a press release.

As many organizations have to purchase new end-user licensing to upgrade to the latest version of Windows Server 2008, businesses with aging Windows servers also have a lot to consider. Resara Server provides an Active Directory compatible domain without end-user or per seat licensing and Microsoft’s own group policy tools can be used with Resara Server. As they can apply their existing training and expertise to Resara Server, this is a great advantage for IT professionals with experience with AD, the company stated.

Recently, the company offered 2011 NAS devices, which offer an affordable compromise to investing in more expensive server solutions for small businesses. Earlier this year, Resara LLC launched its line of OfficeBox server appliances, which offer the simplicity of a NAS solution, but pack the powerful features of a traditional small business server. Resara LLC has been developing Linux server products since 2005. Resara Server, the operating system that powers OfficeBox server appliances.
