Lite-On Introduces Enhanced SSDs and MyDisk Software Suite

Philips (News - Alert) & Lite-On Digital Solutions, a joint venture between Royal Philips Electronics and Lite-On IT Corporation that distributes the Lite-On branded Optical Disc Drive products and other storage devices in the U.S., has announced several new offerings at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show and the Storage Vision Conference 2012.

The latest range of the ultra high-speed Solid-State Drives to be launched by Lite-On is equipped with True Speed Technology, which plays a vital role in curbing the reduction in write speed, an issue commonly found with SSDs. True Speed Technology also ensures a robust and reliable performance to the enterprise, corporate, and OEM customers of Lite-On. The company has been offering SSDs in a wide range in terms of form factors, such as 2.5” in 7mm and 9.5mm, 1.8”, half-slim and mSATA.

“Lite-On has a highly experienced and knowledgeable R&D team dedicated to developing Solid State Drives,” commented Christine Hsing, marketing manager at PLDS. “They deliver the most reliable, high quality, and high performance SSDs to meet corporate and enterprise level environments.”

In addition, the company is also going to launch a new external slim optical disk drive at the 2012 CES (News - Alert). Named eNAU708, the will be provided in bundle with the MyDisk Suite, an advanced disc burning application suite that has specifically been developed for Lite-On.

Users can leverage the benefits of the MyDisk Suite that suits the PC, iPad and iPhone (News - Alert) platforms in a straight and streamlined manner. It is equipped with a number of enhanced applications such as DiskIndex, DiskCollection, DiskCase and DiskMobile that enable the users to burn their favorite data to discs. The suite incorporates various innovative features such as drag-and-drop disc burning, file/disc indexing, customized menus, personalized disc covers and iPhone/iPad image burning as well.

“Lite-On developed MyDisk Suite from comments and suggestions gathered from users during the development process, making MyDisk Suite the most user-centered and user-friendly DVD burning software on the market today,” Christine Hsing added.

Earlier this month, ViXS Systems Inc., a provider of smart network multimedia processors, announced that Lite-On is utilizing the XCode 4210 System on Chip for its latest Streaming Media Gateway (News - Alert) product, µ-Play. At the heart of the Lite-On µ-Play is the XCode 4210 which performs as a single SoC gateway IC and executes all the software stacks required to allow it to manage and distribute all media content.
