When Two Become One: outsourceIT and GoBeyondIT Merge

outsourceIT, a large regional-based managed services provide that provides outsourced IT services to the SMB market place, recently merged with GoBeyondIT, a cloud services provider who has customers in both the SMB and large enterprise market.

As a result of the merger, the combined company will be worth $15 million with approximately 70 employees, creating one of the largest privately held Managed/Cloud Service Providers (MSP/CSP (News - Alert)) in the United States. The headquarters of the combined company will be La Plata, Maryland whereas branch offices will be spanned across the mid-Atlantic and South Eastern regions of the country.

The revamped company will offer a complete portfolio of both managed and cloud services, providing its SMB clients with a fully outsourced IT support department and providing its enterprise clients with ad hoc services such as outsourced help desk, professional services and hosted cloud services.

According to the conditions outlined in the merger, Craig Guice, CEO of outsourceIT, will continue to serve as CEO. However, Guice will step down as president with Mark Vliet, co-founding partner, taking over the role. Also, Richard Crane, CEO of GoBeyondIT, will become executive vice president of Corporate Development and David Webb, partner of GoBeyondIT, will become executive vice president of Enterprise and Strategic Accounts.

"This is an exciting time at outsourceIT, we believe combining forces with GoBeyondIT will accelerate our already fast growth rate," said Guice. "When exploring this opportunity we quickly realized each company provided strength to the other company.  For us (outsourceIT), the biggest driver was the hosted desktop solution offering they (GoBeyondIT) brought to the table.  We can now bundle this service with our MY IT Department offering our clients the best in class cloud services support."

"Cloud Services is an important element in today's technology footprint, but equally important is the support mechanism needed to support the cloud services," Crane added.  "By joining forces with outsourceIT, we are able to bring an end-to-end solution to the customer.  We felt that we could provide better support to our clients and reach levels of scale that would be difficult had we remained only as GoBeyondIT."
