ASUS Combines High-Speed Networking with HD Audio to Give Gamers New Experience at CES 2012

India’s Hindustan Times reports that Taiwan’s leading PC manufacturer ASUSTek (News - Alert) is displaying a collection of products designed to enhance the gaming experience at CES 2012. These include a dual-band wireless gigabit router RT-N66U, dual-band wireless Ethernet adapter REA-N66, ROG Rampage IV Formula/ThunderFX motherboard and ROG Xonar Phoebus gaming soundcard set.

As per the description provided by the Hindustan Times report, the RT-N66U dual-band gigabit wireless router delivers extreme network speeds and coverage for the best wireless gaming experience. Effectively, it is two routers in one, delivering combined wireless speeds of up to 900 Mbps through double 450 Mbps bands operating separately at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, wrote Hindustantimes reporter Shayon Pal. Pal’s explanation indicates that it is supported by 26 dBm (News - Alert) Wi-Fi amplifier, which extends its wireless range. Also, it offers a new user friendly interface to simplify operation for everyone.

Pal wrote that the networking solution offered by RT-N66U is optimized for demanding tasks like multiplayer gaming, 3D HD video streaming, and file sharing. Furthermore, the gigabit router’s professional QoS traffic technology prioritizes network traffic to ensure lag-free online gaming sessions or HD video playback, noted Pal.

Other key features of RT-N66U include stable and fast download experience with 300,000 data sessions, 8 SSIDs, new advanced ASUS user interface, pre-configured basic Wi-Fi settings, and remote management of mobile devices like tablets and smartphones.

Likewise, according to the Hindustan Times, the ASUS EA-N66 is the world’s first dual-band wireless Ethernet adapter to deliver selectable 450 Mbps speed in both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.  It optimizes wireless signal coverage by using patented orthogonal antenna design, wrote Pal. Also, added Pal, “the EA-N66 acts as a three-in-one home networking solution with its Ethernet adapter, repeater and access point modes.” Hence, when paired with the RT-N66U, the EA-N66 gives gamers incredible network speeds and coverage for multiplayer gaming sessions, Pal wrote.

The suite comes with a motherboard that includes on-board high performance audio capability. The motherboard Rampage IV Formula/ThunderFX features the Intel (News - Alert) X79 chipset along with an exclusive audio and LAN gaming solution – the SupremeFX III and Intel Gigabit Ethernet with GameFirst technology, to give users the fastest and most immersive gameplay ever, Pal wrote.
