PDRI Selects Egenera Pan Manager for HP BladeSystem to Increase Data Center Efficiency

Egenera, a global provider of open converged infrastructure software for data center management, announced that PDRI (News - Alert), a provider of talent management solutions as services in the cloud, has selected Egenera PAN Manager Software for HP BladeSystem to modernize its corporate data centers.

Offering disaster recovery capabilities across geographically separated data centers, the joint Egenera and HP solution will manage the core IT infrastructure for PDRI's Web-based applications and hosted services.

“In conjunction with our parent company, SHL, we are the largest provider of integrated Web-based employee assessment, development and training solutions in the United States and around the world,” said Max Gonzalez, IT director, PDRI, in a statement. “As such, we must ensure that our clients have continuous, reliable, and quick access to their critical data and employee management solutions.”

Unique solutions from Egenera and HP are suitable for offering control across multiple locations. HP BladeSystem’s dependable, converged infrastructure platform and Egenera PAN Manager Software gives the customer unprecedented control of that converged infrastructure across multiple data center locations.

PDRI made strategic investments in IT and has produced a force multiplier on the value it can deliver to its customers through products and services. The combination of Egenera PAN Manager and HP BladeSystem allow PDRI to continue delivering scalable human capital solutions.

Dan Busby, vice president of Product Management, Egenera, said, “Max and his team had a clear vision for how they wanted to transform their IT infrastructure and quickly concluded that Egenera's PAN Manager Software, together with HP BladeSystem, delivered the performance, protection and agility to meet current needs and immediately respond to growth opportunities and requirements.”

Recently, Egenera announced that the company extended the functionality of Egenera PAN Manager Software for the Fujitsu PRIMERGY BX900 to include vBlades. Egenera vBlade software, used by the Fujitsu (News - Alert) PRIMERGY BladeFrame BF400/BF200 installed base, allows customers to manage physical and virtual servers from a single administrative console.
