ASG Software Solutions Bags Three Awards in the EMA Radar Report

Enterprise Management Associates (EMA (News - Alert)), the IT and data management research and consulting firm, lauded ASG Software Solutions (ASG) with three awards in its EMA Radar for CMDB/CMS Use Cases – Innovation through Diversity: Q2 2011. ASG Software Solutions was recognized as the vendor with the most platform-like Configuration Management Database and Configuration Management System (CMDB/CMS) solution.

In a press release, Dennis Drogseth (News - Alert), vice president of Research, EMA, said, “ASG combines platform-like breadth of functionality and design with an outwardly facing approach to assimilating relevant management sources outside the ASG brand – which is, in a sense, the best of both worlds for a company’s CMDB/CMS investment. The acquisition of PS’Soft enhanced ASG’s positioning as the most platform-like solution on the market.”

As per the findings of the report, ASG Software Solutions was the largest company surveyed for the Report which analyzes the products and overall market position of industry-leading vendors. The EMA committee interviewed eleven vendors for the CMDB/CMS Use Cases Radar Report; every vendor completed a comprehensive questionnaire consisting of nearly 100 questions and over 500 data points. The survey questions covered the five key functions common to all EMA Radar Reports, which include Architecture, Functionality, Deployment & Administration, Vendor Strength, and Cost Advantage.

Ian Rowlands, Senior Director of Product Management at ASG, said, “Configuration Management Database and Configuration Management System technologies are powerful enablers for businesses. ASG solutions allow the reconciliation and effective usage of various sources of service management information to support virtually all IT processes.”

ASG Software Solutions (ASG) was recently in news when it announced from the Gartner (News - Alert) IT Infrastructure, Operations & Management Summit that visionapp CloudFactory is now available. Private, public or hybrid cloud structures can now be built, provisioned and managed quickly and easily on a uniform platform -- either at the data center or through an external provider. The building-block system is geared to companies of all sizes in all sectors. The visionapp CloudFactory consists of three core modules - CloudCockpit, CloudRobot and CloudShaper -- as well as additional modules and services that cover the key areas of cloud operation.
